Could have

Hello,

1. You could have helped me.

Does this indicate the past time?

"could have +PP" is used for past only?

Thanks.

There is always connection with past time, though there can be references to other times: You could have gone to America next week if you had known that you were going to be free. The potential to go to America exited in the past.
