~could do worse than do something

The makers of tripe like The Sixth Sense could do worse than looking at this for chills - there's not a drop of blood to be seen, there's few shock-horror sudden leapings at the camera, just a sense of unease that permeates through everything.

I'd like to know whether "look" should have been used rather than "looking" in the underlined sentence.
Thank you in advance for your help.

park sang joon I'd like to know whether "look" should have been used rather than "looking" I would have; it is better style. However, you will find that parallelism in that and similar structures is often ignored, even in careful written work.

park sang joonI'd like to know whether you intentionally omitted "to that" after "similar structures"
I doubt if it even occurred to Mr M to use an unnecessary 'to that'.

If I say "... X and similar structures", I can mean nothing but "X and structures similar to X".
