Essay & Composition Writing

Could anyone help me with my essay, please?

Hello to Everyone.
I was to write a short evaluation of the University and its facilities where I was doing my internship. Because my English is not so perfect, I would kindly ask you to correct my essay.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Anna.

First of all I would like to appreciate the kindness and sympathy I was met at the department of biochemistry of X University. In spite of the fact that I was quite concerned about coming to a new country where I didn’t know anyone and I didn’t know the language I was received with a very warm welcome. All the teaching staff and other members of the department were very considerate, open and helpful. Assoc. Prof. Y who was the one to invite me to Slovakia had helped me to prepare all the documents and papers necessary for my registration at the university before my coming to Bratislava. Moreover, throughout these two years Prof. Y actively helped in problem solving, gave me valuable advices when necessary. Being a talented scientist and he helped me to progress as a specialist and to spread my scientific knowledge.
Further follows the characteristic of the department of biochemistry, premises, equipment, general impressions from the organization of the study process. Most of the audiences where I have been to are well renovated and equipped; all the study rooms have the technical facilities for performing presentations with slide shows. There is a small library that belongs to the department of biochemistry. It was organized the way so it served as a library and as an audience where we often had our lectures at the same time. All the scientific papers that belong to the department are stored in the library including bachelor and master thesis, Ph.D. and Doctoral dissertations as well as publications of the department members. One can also find in the library books on biochemistry and relevant subjects, new editions of the tutorials as well as highly specialized literature. However, the periodicals they were mostly represented by the relatively old issues. All the students had open access to the literature. I was allowed to borrow a 1300 page book on biochemistry which was my principal tutorial for my first year. The library is also equipped with computers. Fast speed internet and access to many various data banks and to online scientific journals where one could easily download the article of interest significantly facilitated the process of the information search.
As for the laboratory facilities it should be mentioned that from the 4 premises designed specifically for laboratory needs only one room had been after the renovation with all the new furniture in it by the moment when I arrived. However, the renovation of the other three rooms started at the beginning of 2014 year and was fully completed by this summer. Laboratories were quite well equipped with all the necessary glassware and devices. As a rule all the reagents and supplies were available. The department has in its desposition two modern UV- and fluorescence spectrometers and one circular dichroism spectrometer. So that most of the scientific research works and student practice that at the department are carried out in the accordance with the equipment that is available. I would evaluate the overall impression of the department facilities as positive, however with a room for the improvement. What I did really appreciate was the fact that all the reagents necessary for the work were bought in time and the process was very quick with no delay for the research. It should be mentioned that the head of our department, Prof. Z in the framework of his course on Biophysical Chemistry organized for us multiple tours to other laboratories and departments where we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the some new devices and techniques. I appreciate this very much since biochemistry is a strikingly fastly-evolving science and it is of great importance for students to get acquainted with the newest methods and equipment.
The study process is well organized and is rather flexible. The study plan includes obligatory subjects that provide students with general and fundamental knowledge on biochemistry as well as special courses that students can choose according to their interest and specialization. I would give a rather high evaluation to the level of instruction at the university. All the lectures were demonstrative and were accompanied with slide shows which is very important for the students of biochemistry since visualistion of the information contributes to its better understanding and assimilation of knowledge. My highest evaluations I would give to those subjects taught Prof. Z, Assoc. Prof X, Assoc. and Assoc. Prof N. Their lectures were the most interesting, vivid, fascinating and memorable. All the time the named professors were trying to involve us in a profound and vivid discussion.
To summarize, I would like to say that my overall experience about studying at the department of biochemistry at X University was positive. I was very warmly welcomed there and I was feeling the support and assistance throughout the whole period of the two years. I’m quite satisfied with the organization of the study process and the level of training at the department. Due to the knowledge and training that I have gained here I grew up as a specialist. In the process of working on the diploma project I gained valuable results that are planned to be published in a peer reviewed journal.
