Could anyone help me

to find out what the oppisite word for monolithic is? I thought of polylithic but according to what I found out this word doesn't exist as such.

Top answer

Word thesaurus comes up with 'small' as the antonym for monolithic. Monolithic means colossal, huge, massive, impressively large... I can see why you thought mono/poly but in monolithic the mono does not seem to mean one/single in the usual sense of mono, therefore poly (multi/many) is not its opposite.

Dear Maverick,

A «monolith» is a large single stone.

The other meanings are therefore metaphorical.
