Could anybody correct the following letter?

I, an old lady of 74 years regret to bring the following facts to your notice after I haven’t received my passport for which I made an application to RPO, Chennai almost one year ago.

The application was submitted in May 2007. After six months time in December 2007, I received a reply dated 12/07/07 (Ref. No. PCD0144507) depicting that my age in my voter’s ID differs from that of the application. Subsequently an affidavit explaining the discrepancy in my voter’s ID was forwarded to RPO in January 2008. As there is no response for months I forwarded an appeal on 15/01/08 (A copy of the appeal is attached below). Thereafter in March 2008 I received another letter dated 05/12/07 (Ref No. PCD00222307) asking me to forward a fresh DD. A fresh DD was sent promptly.

Police verification was completed at the Nellakottai police station on 28/09/08 by submitting necessary documents for residential proof attested by relevant authorities.

It’s very embarrassing that my application is processed in a very slow speed thus making unreasonable delay in obtaining my passport even after all the necessary documents had been submitted in support of my application.

Could I ask you as you are the competent authority, to look into this matter as early as possible and take necessary action to issue my passport keeping in view my old & helpless age.

Sundar: State in your first sentence exactly what you want. The person's age does not make any difference to the bureaucracy, only a date by which the passport is required, and why it is required. Dear Sir/Madam: Please investigate why I have not yet received my passport yet.
