I only wanted to point out that you don't want "fair", but "fare" (e.g. "bus fare").

Here are some general comments.



fare - usually just used for the cost of being taken from one place to another.

charge/cost/price - can be used in talking about almost anything.

price and cost - used to talk about things that are sold

fee - for professional services provided, eg tuition, accounting, lawyer

Bus price/cost
When we want to express how much we should pay to take a bus we can only say,
Bus price/cost/fare/charge
but bus fair is most idiomatic one.
we can use cost/charge and price because they can be used almost everyw
