the maps show some changes to a small town of harborne which was developed for hospitality industry from 1936 to 2007.tou

It is clear that the town changed considerably with the introduction of and some new features can be seen in the second diagram.The most notable changes are the disappearance of green areas as well as the creation of the infrastructure for recreation and housing.

Looking at the map in more details,we can see that the period from 1936 to 2007 witnessed the replacement of northeast river by the residential area. In addition, the goverment offices and farm land situated in the southwest of the town were turned into museum and golf course.while the forest in the northwest was cut down,there was an appearance of a main road which replaced for the crooked cycle path before.

As well as the significant improvements above,there were some new developements were located in the downtown. Some old shopping store such as sweet shop,butchers, and flower shop were demolished to make way for modern supermarket and travel agent.Located in the center of the town ,there was also a shopping centre. However,the post office, bank, and library remained as was.
