Could

Hi friends,

Why is "Could" used in the dialogue below?

A: If you could just fill each of these with nuts, and I brought the nuts. I will take care of everything else.

B: Halen, I thought this was going to be a little bit more casual.

Is it showing to possibility, suggestion or request? Please, explain.

Thank you

Request.

The two parts of the sentence "If you could just fill each of these with nuts, and I brought the nuts" do not fit together very well.
