could

I'm talking to an airport attendant helping me around the airport because of my broken leg. I say:

You could just leave me at the gate and I'll be okay from there. OR

You can just leave me at the gate and I'll be okay from there.

Should it be could because it's a suggestion? But can sounds more certain, so I'm not sure which one to use.

Use either. The result will be the same. He'll either leave you or stay with you until somebody else comes to help.
