Could

I want to get a lifeguard certificate, so if I ever travel overseas, I could/can get a job as a lifeguard.

THe reason why I would use could is because it's not certain that I will get a job as a lifeguard. I want to make it known that it's an option and not a means of livelihood.

Very appreciate your help!

PreciousJones I want to make it known that it's an option and not a means of livelihood. It does not make that much known, but you are right about the certainty.
