Cost of university
Students should pay the full cost of their own university studies, or rather than have free higher education provided by the state. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Many people argue that students should take full responsibility for paying their tuition fees at university. However, I believe that the government should offer free tertiary education.
Firstly, receiving free higher education gives students from all walks of life a chance to have the equality of educational opportunity. In other words, no matter how poor or rich students are, they can enter universities as long as they meet admissions criteria. Many students who have a thirst for knowledge will be able to continue their education after high school graduation despite their poor financial situation.
Secondly, free tertiary education provided by the government plays an important role in the growth of employees with high quality background of education. For instance, it is obvious that some people will choose to work for money instead of continuing to study with a burden of financial cost. Therefore, they could change their decisions if they receive free tuition programs. As a result, the number of employees holding university degrees will increase.
Thirdly, students would enable to focus on learning and acquire more in-depth knowledge because they are free from struggling with the payment of their tuition fees. In fact, the cost of living has risen significantly in past years, and that leads to impossible abilities of paying for both university programs and living expenses.
