Corseted into ...

Hi

A woman from a hiding was filming a coven. People were naked and were dancing.

She was holding a camera and thinking to herself:

But this – her fingers tightened on the camera – this is

a machine which cannot think or feel or be affected by any

drug. It can only record. It is recording now! And that was,

oddly enough, a very horrid thought when you looked at

the fat round haunches of the Postmistress, ordinarily

corseted into the decent solid roundness of a tree trunk,

or when you looked at the pendulous breasts, like empty

paper bags, of Phoebe Rigby. When you looked . . .

Does it mean that the postmistress was ordinarily wearing a corset which made her look round like a tree trunk, but now was naked?

Hi

So she ordinarily was wearing a corset which was solid and round as a tree trunk?

"solid" mean here "good looking, decent, strong"?
