Correspondingly?

Hi! Everyone.

Could you tell me whether "correspondingly" is being used correctly here?

As you go on investigating the laws of nature scientifically; correspondingly you are going further away from God.

If it's not been used correctly here, could you tell me the right way to use it in this sentence?

Thanks

No; it is completely useless—an example of using a word just because you are attracted to it.This is more than sufficient:

As you go on investigating the laws of nature scientifically, you are going further away from ***.
