What does it mean? "were reduced"?

The books[' prices] were reduced - a colloquial way to say this which is quite usual.

Yes, or 'will have a book sale in a month's time'.

Hi guys,

The book store near Susan’s house will have a book sale in a month's time.

Here is a small comment on a common style flaw in the sentences of many learners.

Try to avoid repeating words. A sale in a book store will commonly be assumed to be a book sale and not, for example, a shoe sale or a furniture sale. So, omit the second mention
