(4) The cockroach is climbing on the floor.

I'll venture a guess that you mean this:

The cockroach is climbing up the wall

Hi Vctory Ong
Vctory Ong(1)The cockroach is crawling on the floor.
You could say that if the cockroach is moving slowly. If the cockroach is moving quickly, I might suggest this:

- The cockroach is scurrying across the floor.
Vctory Ong(2)In the morning(=every morning ?), postmen deliver letters.

Thank you very much

The postman/mailman delivers letters every morning.
Why should we put "the" here?

Why don't we say in this way?
Postmen/All postmen deliver letters every morning.
Could anybody help me with it ?
Many thanks in advance

If you are talking about whet happens at your house, where one postman delivers letters, you should say, "Every morning the postman delivers letters." (I think this is what Yankee was thinking of .) If you are talking about what happens all over the city, where many postmen are delivering many letters, then you can use "Postmen deliver letters every morning."

Thanks,

Please let me confirm my understanding to it.
"The" represents to definite postman.

But I still get a question.
Victory: Every morning the postman delivers letters.

If I say it to my friend and doesn't mention him before, will my friend ask me who the postman is?
Or "the" here must refer to the postman who delivers letters to my house.Just like "the

Another reason I wasn't very happy with "Postmen deliver letters every morning" was that mailmen in our area don't just deliver letters in the morning -- they also deliver letters in the afternoon. At our house, the mailman usually delivers our mail between 11 a.m and 1 p.m.
Some people in town get their mail earlier than we do, and some get it later.
