Just a side note: He answered the question on the blackboard. "on the blackboard" could refer to either where he wrote the answers, or where the questions were.

The teacher said, "On the blackboard are three questions. I want comprehensive responses to all three. You have half an hour." So I answered all the question on the blackboard to the best of my abilty.
