They are enjoying dinner is fine - "the dinner" would indicate a special dinner rather than dinner they have every day.

#f - He was proud because the audience gave him resounding applause OR He was proud because the audience roared their approval.

Do you mean "he is painting a picture of a tree"? Or is he actually putting paint on a real tree? (In either case, you could leave out "with a paintbrush," as that is the usual way to paint.) Usually, of course, we talk about "painting a tree," "painting a vase of flowers," etc., and the context
