I would never abbreviate anything with an exception of generally
accepted cases like e.g., i.e., P.S., et al.

P.S. I rigidly believe that you cannot abbreviate the word "continue",

In what context are you wanting to abbreviate it?

"continued" is sometimes abbreviated "cont.", but I've never seen this used for "continue".
