Hello!
Is it possible to answer: "We can go by a taxi" when the question is: "How can we get into town?".
I'd rather prefer ... go by taxi... without "a" but some of my students insist on an answer like this.
Thanks in advance!

If they insist on using an indefinite article "a" before taxi in that phrase (despite the fact that you have said it's incorrect), they will like that one : Take a taxi:)
