Correction

in trying to translate for pleasure few lines of kabir from french into english the text went like that and following will be my attempt at a translation aware something is going a bit of the track!!!!
il en est des plus grand souverains comme de ravana
en un instant ils sont aneantis

english:
as big sovereign as ravana there was
in a moment happened to be destroyed

did not try in any way to sound "poetic" but the writing in french was a bit dificult to
be conveyed in a simple way could you tell me if my sentence is awfully wrong and what changes could bring it back into the fold of normal english grammar
