correction!!

Hey!
Could you just help me correct the following:

1) Make the students familiar with THE weather vocabulary. Is it really necessary to have the definite article in this sentence?

2) Necessary material or material necessary?

Thanks a lot!

Top answer

1. Using "the weather vocabulary" suggests the existence of several lists of various other types of vocabulary, for example, and thus "the" could have been used to refer to a specific list. The broader context would clarify that.
