Can someone please review my Literary analysis on the hunger games, and direct it for me? I really need a good grade in this and would appreciate it greatly. The Hunger Games When reading Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games, you will find the book to be nerve wrecking, interesting, heart wrenching, and a bit violent. Although I say the book is interesting, I think it would've made a better plot if Katniss had left Peeta to die in the competition. In my opinion, it would've made a better plot because it would've showed Katniss' determination to win, that she had no mercy in the game, and it would've made her seem like a better competitor.
First off, if Katniss had left Peeta to die, it would've shown how merciless she really was. I think it would've made her seem merciless because if she had left him to die, it would've shown the rest of the competitors that she's not so weak and vulnerable. It would've shown that she was capable of killing glimmer and Rue's murderer all on her own, and it would've told the competitors that she had no problem killing when it came to the win. Because she had chosen to save Peeta's life, it showed how weak she was.
Second, letting Peeta die would have made Katniss seem like a stronger competitor. Katniss was held back in the competition because of the fact that she had to stay back and care for Peeta so much. If she hadn't have done all that, then she would've killed Peeta on the spot when she found him, and eliminated one more player. Perhaps if she hadn't cared for him, then she would've received a different gift from the cornucopia at the banquet. That gift could have made Katniss' Victory much easier. Peeta was another setback for Katniss.
Lastly, doing that would've showed Katniss's determination to win. Doing this would've shown her determination to win because it would have shown not only the audience, but also the competitors that nothing was gonna stop her from winning. It would have kept her more focused in the game, and would've made everyone and everything easy prey. For example, In the story when Peeta and Katniss are hunting for game, Peeta was stepping very loud and Katniss says herself that She would do much better in finding game without him there.
I feel that the topic I discussed was important because it's something I feel very strongly of. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that Peeta was just a huge distraction for Katniss, and made things way harder on her. Without him, she would have suffered way less in the games.
