Correct words for these?

Hi. Which should be the question for the response "He is playing a board game"? Should it be "What game is he playing?" or "What kind of game is he playing?"

Also, When you have had students in your class do a quiz and you, as a teacher, want them to change their quiz papers with their partners, can we use the word "exchange" instead of "change" like no. 2? Thank you in advance for your help.

(directed to each student)
1. Please change your paper with your partner.
2. Please exchange your paper with your partner.
