What is the proper ussage of has, had, have, has been, had been and have been in a sentence.

Anon, this is a very basic question. After "to be" the verb "to have" is probably the most important verb in English and you need to know the basics. " "Had" is simple past for all of them.

In the present tense:
I, you, we, and they all take "have."
He, she, it, or other third-person singular take "has."

"Had" is simple past for all of them.

Present perfect: I have had
Past perfect: I had had
