Correct use of I in a sentence: subject or object?

Hi there, I understand the basic idea of "I" being the subjective pronoun and "me" be the objective pronoun, but I am really struggling with this sentence for some reason:

"One could see the performers and I dancing".

Is this correct? Or should it be "the performers and me"?
I can't help feel the latter is wrong, but I would interpret the sentence as One being the subject in this sentence, which I would think means "performers and I" are the objects, and therefore this sentence should use "me" instead of "I".

Any help very gratefully received!
