Correct use

Students can take either a non-science elective or a math elective.

Is it correct to use Students (plural) as the subject and use a non-science elective (singular) as the object in this sentence? Should we use non-science electives?

Top answer

As I understand your original sentence, each student can take one elective. If you rewrote it, each student can take multiple electives.
