Correct usage with colon?

He was a professional in the big city -- Istanbul in this case.

This needs a em dash or colon? No other way to write it correct? Perhaps an ellipsis or would that be wrong?



Do these look ok with the colon? Any major errors in any of these? Wasn't sure if a phrase could follow a colon/dependent clause also?
