Anonymous "He is sleeping in the bed" or "he is sleeping on the bed" If he is "in" the bed then he is under the covers whereas "on" the bed would mean that he is not covered with any bedding. Anonymous "She is sitting in the seat" or "she is sitting on the seat" This one is a little more subtle. To sit "in" a seat suggest that the seat is comfortable and surrounds you.
