Correct usage.

Birthdays, I don't bother with; living alone since the 60's. Can you use a semi-colon to break up a sentence this way?

I imagine it is missing: due to me living alone etc.

We used to get alot of work in town, our firm being the only reptuable dealership. Does the sentence require with our ? Or is it ok as a phrase as written ?

Celebrities are always moaning in the papers. Not content to enjoy the life they've made and craving more fame.

Is this sentence grammatically correct?

Or should it be like this?

Celebrities are always moaning in the papers, not content to enjoy the life they've made and craving more fame.

Not is often prepositional as not often starts a sentence this way:

Not that I needed the money, but the cash was just sitting on the table.

But not isn't as restrictive as despite, although, even though. In the sense, you could write:

Not competing in the race was the best choice he made.

But you can't do that with the other words? Not that I can think of anyway. Is it still same usage with not?
