Correct usage

I want to write this sentence but am unclear as to the correct for

'Tried everything, from home remedies to commercial products, but that one stubborn spot of dirt refuses to leave?'
can the clause 'tried everything' exist without a subject? 'implicit:you'
If i remove the first comma:

is it still good style? is 'from home remedies to commercial products' a dependent clause?
