correct usage

Hello,

1. The cat jumped up high on the air in fright.(The cat jumped up high in the air with fright.)

2.Wild animals are vary from people.(Wild animals are different from people.)

3.The weather bureau was not sure wheather it would rain today.

(The weather bureau is not sure wheather it will rain today.)

I have to correct the senetnces numbered as (1,2,3). I have put my view in the braces.

Are they correct?

And a question: In "are vary from", is "vary" and adjective or a noun?
