I think I am encountering a lot of cases where people are omitting determiners, e.g. a, an, or the, in a series of things (after the first thing), especially when they are all related to (or defined by) the subsequent phrase or clause.

I think I will find lots of cases where the determiners will be omitted for a convenience sake.

I would use "a" before "vest" and "tie"; otherwise, it looks as if it's some kind of package...

"Please give this to father." Looks like a mother were talking to her child, asking him/her to give something to the child's father. Or a sibling saying that to a child, still referring to their father.
