Correct tenses

i need help with this exercise:

4. Complete the following paragraph with the correct form of the verb in brackets



In order to write Cuando comer es un infierno, Freire____________________ (l . have) to relive her own difficult past. had,listened,told,describes,have been living/have lived

Looks good to me. Seems that you know it is common to use simple present for describing things in a book, though you COULD have said "she described" and used the past there instead. I think "have been living" is better but there is nothing wrong with "have lived."
