Correct tense: [had snowed] [snowed] [has snowed]

I have made up the sentences below.

(1) Over the past six days, it had snowed a lot. It stopped and became sunny this morning. This evening, it's raining heavily.

(2) Over the past six days, it snowed a lot. It stopped and became sunny this morning. This evening, it's raining heavily.

(3) Over the past six days, it has snowed a lot. It stopped and became sunny this morning. This evening, it's raining heavily.

Most of my non-native English speaking friends think the pluperfect "had snowed" in (1) is correct because of the three weather conditions, snowing happened first, Next was being sunny. Lastly, it's raining right now. My other friends think (3) is correct because it works best with "over the past six days".

I am not sure which tense is correct. Please help me. Thanks a lot.
