Correct sentences

In absence of Mr. X, Mr. y did exceptionally well by covering up his duties as well.

The object is 15 meters above from the ground. There is one small tag is attached/stuck representing asset no. to the object which can be viewed from the ground/floor also. No need to climb up to view the tag.
