Correct punctuation and usage of "its'.

I need the correct punctuation and/or usage of the word "its" in the following sentence:

"In so far as is practical, consistent with its autonomous character, this church will cooperate with and support the missionary and benevolent efforts of ..."

Your usage is correct.

The apostrophe is usually used with possesion, so you would use "John's hat" or "the dog's bone". However when it comes to "it" the rule is different and you don't use an apostrophe to describe "its decision". Only use "it's" as a contraction of "it is".
