Correct punctuation

1. "If I advise a friend to watch Star Wars episode 1,2 & 3 first and then 4,5 & 6, would the fun factor of the original trilogy be ruined for him then since he would already know that Vader is Luke's father?

Hi, does the question mark placement work in the first sentence or does it have to be like in the second one?
