Correct preposition?

She goggled at photos in/on/from my phone.

Which is correct, in or on or from?

Top answer

"On" or "in" would be correct in most contexts. I would probably go with "on" here. "In" would be for if they're looking deep into the phone and thoroughly checking all of the photos, particularly if they're hidden, while "on" would be for someone just casually looking through the phone.

  • If the photos were originally on your phone but were moved or copied somewhere else and are being looked at in this new place (such as if you plugged your phone into the computer and are looking at the photos on the PC), then you would say "from" my phone.
