Is it correct grammar to use these phrases?

aroused the debate
intensified the debate

Also, is it possible to say "There wasn't that many questions." in spoken English?

Are these right as well?

All this / these we pray (even if you've prayed for a lot of things).
I'm confused when we can use this/these
