Dear All,

Are the following sentences 100% correct and natural-sounding?

Students will be familiar with 3 major novels that represent the genre of dystopian fiction.
Students will be able to apply newly-learnt literary devices in writing.
Students will be able to recognize those literary devices in others’ writing.

I think you intended a "z" in there, right?

be familiar - be in a certain state
be familiarized - undergo a certain process.

Likewise, be open (state),

Students will be familiarized with = this may mean the same as above (with a slight emphasis on the teaching) or it may mean that they will study the topic in the future
