Could you please tell me if the following sentences are correct? I think both are incorrect.

1) Two continents, stayed solitary from one another for countless years, met.

2) Entirely different cultures and natures began medling since then.

Both are certainly odd. Are these the intentions?—

Two continents, isolated from one another for countless eons, merged.
Then, entirely different species began mingling.

(Continental drift occurred well before human culture.)
