Is the following sentence correct? Is the comma necessary?

In your presentation, please include a map where the colony of Maryland can be easily seen in reference to other colonies.

Is there a rule behind it? Not that I know of. The pause just lets the reader absorb the idea that the sentence is going to be about his presentation.

the other colonies clearly means all of them
