Correct or not no. 70: Jeremy Clarkson says...

Hello there,

Here's what Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear came up with some time ago:

Joking about the car's fuel economy, it ended with the tag line: 'Volkswagen Scirocco TDI. Berlin to Warsaw in one tank' - a reference to Adolf Hitler's decision to invade Poland.

While I do understand the double meaning of the word tank (a military vehicle and a petrol container) and although I think it's rather questionable whether a joke like that should be ever made, I'd like to ask if the preposition in is correct here. I've always thought it should be on one tank.

Cheers

PS Could someone tell me if the way I used while and although is correct?

Let's leave the joke aside for a second. Would you normally say on one tank form a city A to city B or in one tank?

Thank you

I would say 'on', but I would not discount 'in'. 'In' was used for the purposes of the joke, and it is a possible alternative—that is the point.
