Correct or not no. 48: a bit longish paragraph about universities
Dear All,
Would you please be so kind and help me improve this sentence if it doesn't sound native-like or good enough to your ears?
The problem with the quality of education at Chinese universities may not be necessarily related to the actual lack of quality itself but the underpinning (underlying) conviction (fixed and firm belief) among Chinese students that there is no quality education at Chinese universities (that Chinese universities can't provide their students with quality education) In an average Chinese person's mind (in an average Chinese's mind) the best universities are those that are ranked on (in) the list of TOP 50 best universities and it doesn't really matter what for what reasons those universities are on that list. Another problem is that the quality of a Chinese university is simply judged by one factor; that is, how high the Chinese matriculation admission score is set for incoming students applying for the university.
The last sentence is clearly wrong but I'm struggling with finding a better phrasing. When it comes to the rest, I put alternative wording in the brackets.
