Correct or not no. 38 - different from me / unlike me

Hello All,

The magazine I'm reading now has this section called "Error Correction Clinic" and every month there's about 20 sentences they correct. Here's one of them:

Different from me, she is very good at English.

Now, they say one should use unlike me.

What do you think about it?

Thanks

Thanks MM. Would you say the other phrase is not native-like?

I've done a bit of research and some websites list different from me as a proper expression. I find it quite odd...
