Hi everyone,

What do you think about this sentence? Something sounds wrong here...

The computer was far superior to/than those kids' computers.

Thanks

to is the correct preposition. I would suggest: The computer was far superior to those of the kids. It sounds a little better to my ear.

Thanks ozzourti and Philip.

Would you say this sentence is a good alternative to the one in the original post?

This computer is much better than those of those kids.

I know the would be much better instead of doubling those but is it acceptable?

Just for the sake of sonority, I wouldn't repeat those, even though it is technically correct.
