Correct or not no. 32 - like/likeness

Hi,

My like for chess comes from the fact that...

1. Is like correct here? I think I've got to use another word or transform like into something else, likeness for example. But it sounds a bit odd here.
2. Is there any way to get rid of the fact that ?
