Correct or not - having a moment, I've been trimming...

Dear Users,

Are the following sentences correct and native-like?

Sorry, I've been quite busy today. I've been trimming the headges and now I'm having a moment to sit down and drop you a line.

1) I'm not sure if we say to trim the hedges or to prune the headges
2) I don't know if it's better to say I've been... or I was trimming/prunning the headges. The idea is to show that the action has just finished.

Thanks!

Thank you Rober_KE and sorry for my sloppiness. I typed in that sentence way too fast.

I have some additional questions if I may:

1) Do you ever say to prune the hedges?
2) Should I say headgeS or headge?
3) I

You're still spelling 'hedges' wrong.

1) You trim the hedges with garden shears. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRQM9yE9uYSCdCnV4jHxrFNY5SCHtJxBHtE_eCHMEZj0ehsA9AocA
