Correct or not?
Only Tom did realise that the window was not closed.
Is there a mistake in this sentence? I think that using "did" here is incorrect. What do you think?

It is not entirely impossible to include "did" for emphasis, but unless it was intentionally included by a competent native English writer then most probably it is an error and should be "Only Tom realised ..."
