00 Because of the constantly increase of world temperature, global warming has been one of the most concerned issues in this century. Many experts have suggested several solutions to this problem; among them is that environmental education should be compulsory in schools. Truly, I have realized the impact of this phenomenon and want to make a move; however, for this mistaken statement, I can only deny it. This is due to the facts that the workload in Thai educational system is already too much for students, also, informing children of environment will not make any different, and this will, actually, cause more problems in the educational system and economy of our country.02br

00 Firstly, a controversy about the long study hour has already been a problem in schools. In recent years, there have been several debates arguing whether school schedule should be shorten or not, so that children could have more time to relax and participate in physical exercise. Also, another truth is that a significant number of students today cannot handle workload efficiently. So if any more subject, such as environmental studies, has to be added into the schedule, it would be too much for student. Therefore, this solution would not be effective regarding to the current situation of Thai education.02br

00 Secondly, there is no guarantee that the solution of informing children in school would make any different. Take a look in our history. How many years has moral study been obligatory in Thailand? And has it made any different? The only answer is “no”; and sadly the situation get even worse as never before: there are relatively large numbers of crime today; people are getting more selfish; and the rate of suicide has gradually increased. Thus, it makes very little sense to once again solve a problem by having an environmental study compulsory in school.02br

00 Thirdly, apart from the unfeasible of the mechanism, it will also bring more issues into the educational system as well as country's economic. Making environmental education mandatory means that the goverment would have to spend more in order to make this mechanism runs. Many new facillities will be needed in the study. And the training for teachers and faculties would be required. All of these cost a fortune amount of money which could affect country economy; and such a transition would make the system unstable because of changes that will happen.02br

00 In conclusion, there is no denial that global warming issue need to be solved immediately by all man who has either directly or indirectly caused it to happen. But only the right mechanism would lead to the right solution. Irrational mechanism such as making environmental education in school would only cause more problems, educationally and economically, since our educational system already has a problem about the extent of study hour; and the history has taught us a lesson that changing human nature by educating them is not an effective solution. These are why the motion should fall.02br
